Medical laboratory Services
AIA laboratoratories offers a variety of specialised (Profile/Generalized) tests, including Blood Chemistry, Haematology, Coagulation studies, Microbiology, Immunology, Serology and transfusion services, to mention a few..
Ultra Sound Scan Services
An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor a pregnancy, diagnose a condition, or guide a surgeon during certain procedures. At AIA Laboratories, we generally use ultrasound scans to monitor the progress and health of the pregnancy.
ECG, EEG Serivces
An electrocardiogram (ECG / EEG) are tests used to evaluate the heart. Electrodes (small, plastic patches that stick to the skin) are placed at certain spots on the chest, arms, and legs. The electrodes are connected to an ECG machine by lead wires.
X-Ray Services
An x-ray is a type of radiation used to create a picture of the inside of your body. As x-ray beams pass through your body they are absorbed differently by various structures in the body, such as your bones and soft tissues. This is used to create an image. X-ray imaging is also known as radiography.
Mammography
Screening mammograms are used when a patient does not have symptoms. These are used on a routine basis to detect cancers that may be too small to detect by palpation or self-checks.Each image is then examined by a radiologist who is trained to look for such abnormalities.
CT Scan
A CT (computed tomography) scan is a type of imaging test. Like an X-ray, it shows structures inside your body. But instead of creating a flat, 2D image, a CT scan takes dozens to hundreds of images of your body. To get these images, a CT machine takes X-ray pictures as it revolves around you.
Specialties
Our laboratory scientists (MLS) work to analyze a variety of biological specimens. They are responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians. Medical laboratory scientists perform complex tests on patient samples using sophisticated equipment like microscopes. The data they find plays an important role in identifying and treating cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and other medical conditions. We offer the following specialized services:
ENDOCRINOLOGY
An endocrinologist is a medical specialist who treats people with conditions that are caused by problems with endocrine glands and hormones, such as diabetes, menopause and thyroid problems..
GENETIC TESTING
Genetic testing can be done on samples of blood or saliva, or from a swab of the inside of a cheek. The samples are sent to a lab for testing. There are many different possible mutations in the BRCA genes.
HISTOPATHOLOGY
Histopathology is the diagnosis and study of diseases of the tissues, and involves examining tissues and/or cells under a microscope. Histopathologists are responsible for making tissue diagnoses.
ALLERGY TESTING
An allergy test is an exam performed by a trained allergy specialist to determine whether your body has an allergic reaction to a known substance. The exam can be in the form of a blood or skin test (prick/patch).
ANDROLOGY
Andrology is a name for the medical specialty that deals with male health, particularly relating to the problems of the male reproductive system and urological problems that are unique to men.
ANTIBIOTIC ASSAY
The Antibotic assay or biopotency assay is a method of measuring the bioactivity of various antibiotics. The assay demonstrates how efficacious the antibiotic is in killing bacteria,this is expressed as a ratio of the dose.
CERVICAL SCREENING
Cervical cancer screening, sometimes also known as a smear test or a pap smear, is an effective method for detecting abnormal cells in the cervix. Detecting and removing abnormal cervical cells can prevent cancer.
CYTOLOGY
Cytology is the study of cells. Cytologists perform microscopic evaluation of patient samples to diagnose cancer, precancerous lesions, benign tumors, infectious agents, and inflammatory processes.
DRUGS/ALCOHOL
Alcohol and drug tests detect previous alcohol and/or drug use. A physical sample (e.g., breath, urine, hair, saliva, blood) from a worker is analysed to see if alcohol or drug metabolic by-products are present.
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Reproductive health tests comprise physical examination of the male and the female couple, semen analysis & blood tests are conducted to determine the appropriate timing for having babies and cause infertility.
SEXUAL HEALTH
